Wisdom Tooth Extraction in Henderson, NV

After wisdom tooth extraction, it is important to stick to soft foods that require minimal chewing to avoid irritating the surgical site. Good options include mashed potatoes, applesauce, yogurt, smoothies, scrambled eggs, and soups that are not too hot. Avoid crunchy, spicy, or hard foods, as well as drinking through a straw, as this can disturb the healing process. As the mouth heals, more solid foods can gradually be reintroduced based on your comfort level.

Gauze should be used to control bleeding immediately after the procedure, typically changed every 30 to 45 minutes until bleeding slows. Most patients can stop using gauze within a few hours, but if bleeding continues, it may be necessary to use fresh gauze and apply gentle pressure. If excessive bleeding persists beyond 24 hours, contacting your dentist for further guidance is recommended.
